From Rocket Engineer to Colourful Interior Designer
I’m Justine—a colourful interior and set designer, storyteller, and lover of all things bold and vibrant. I’m the founder of Rainbow Shaker, a London-based creative studio where I transform spaces into playful, personality-filled interiors. From residential and commercial projects to set design for TV, films, photoshoots, and events, I bring a fearless approach to colour and storytelling in design.
Curious about my journey from rocket to home design? 👈 Tune into the first episode of my podcast 😉
Through my work, my podcast and my online course (Colour Your Home Happy), I empower others to embrace colour and trust their instincts in design.
Because your home (or any space you create) should feel like YOU: bold, unapologetic, and full of life ✨.
But my journey didn’t start in interiors—I’m actually a former rocket engineer. While working in aerospace, I found myself constantly seeking creative outlets beyond the rigid world of engineering. Eventually, I decided to follow my passion, retrained in interior design, and launched my own business—combining my love for bold aesthetics with my structured, problem-solving mindset. Today, I help people and brands create joyful, meaningful spaces that tell their unique stories.
Press & TV
I was also a contestant on the interior design show on Channel 4 – The Big Interiors Battle hosted by the lovely AJ Odudu and head judge Dara Huang.
8 of us battled it out to win the keys to an apartment based in Capital&Centric’s high-end Eyewitness Works development in the heart of Sheffield.
Emotions and suspense guaranteed!
